How To Buy Flattering One-Piece Swimsuits For Women
Many women choose a one-piece swimsuit for modesty purposes, others to cover up areas they feel are their less flattering parts, whilst others simply prefer the extra support, comfort and style of a one-piece. Whichever your reason for buying a one piece swimsuit you can use a few tips to get the most out of your choice.
1. Use colour to accentuate your best bits and draw attention away from those areas you'd rather not be noticed. As a general fashion tip, dark colours are slimming and a combination of dark colours and lighter colours allow you to draw attention away from you less flattering body parts to those you'd like to be noticed. Got big hips? Try wearing dark coloured bikini bottoms with a brightly coloured top to draw attention upwards.
2. Skirted swimsuits are often touted as a great way to cover up large bums, hips and thighs but often only help to draw attention to these areas. The added material often hangs in exactly these areas drawing attention to the very area you are trying to cover up! Instead, use ruffle, frills, buckles and other add-on detail to draw attention to other parts of your body and away from the problem area.
3. If you lack curves then a one-piece can help you out. A boying figure can be easily accentuated by a bold coloured one-piece swimsuit or tankini with dark side panels. This gives the illusion of a curvaceous figure. Using buckles and accessories on the hips can help these seem wider too.
4. If you are a larger breasted lady then there are many underwired one-piece swimsuits and plus size one-pieces for bigger women. Again, choice of colour is important here if you are larger as metallic or shiny materials reflect light and give the illusion of being 'bigger' whilst duller, matte materials and particularly darker colours make everyone look slimmer.
5. Swirls and mad patterns stop the eye from focusing on any one area so a swirly pattern one-piece swimsuit can keep the eye from focusing on any one area and help you 'hide' should you desire to.
6. Snag their attention with bows, ruffles etc. If you're proud of your bust then draw attention to it. Likewise, if you aren't then draw attention elsewhere...you get the idea.
7. If you have short legs then a swimsuit with high-cut legs can give the illusion of have longer legs as well as slimming hips and thighs.
